Im Juli dieses Jahres besuchten drei von uns, Giovanna Muha CJ, Sarah Rudolph IBVM und ich, das HLPF bei den Vereinten Nationen. Also, was sind diese Akronyme und worum geht es in diesem Forum ….<\/p>

Das hochrangige politische Forum der Vereinten Nationen f\u00fcr nachhaltige Entwicklung (HLPF) im Jahr 2023 fand von Montag, 10. Juli, bis Mittwoch, 19. Juli 2023, unter der Schirmherrschaft des Wirtschafts- und Sozialrats statt. Dazu geh\u00f6rt auch der dreit\u00e4gige Ministerteil des Forums vom 17. bis 19. Juli 2023 als Teil des hochrangigen Teils des Rates. Der letzte Tag des High-Level-Segments des ECOSOC war am Donnerstag, den 20. Juli 2023.<\/p>

Das Thema lautete \u201eBeschleunigung der Erholung von der Coronavirus-Krankheit (COVID-19) und die vollst\u00e4ndige Umsetzung der Agenda 2030 f\u00fcr nachhaltige Entwicklung auf allen Ebenen\u201c.<\/p>

Was ist also das HLPF? Das hochrangige politische Forum der Vereinten Nationen f\u00fcr nachhaltige Entwicklung ist das Instrument, mit dem die Vereinten Nationen den Fortschritt der Ziele f\u00fcr nachhaltige Entwicklung 2030 \u00fcberpr\u00fcfen. Es steht unter der Schirmherrschaft der Wirtschafts- und Sozialkommission. Die Mitgliedstaaten verabschieden ausgehandelte Erkl\u00e4rungen, \u00fcberpr\u00fcfen ihr Engagement und den Fortschritt der Agenda 2030 f\u00fcr nachhaltige Entwicklung. Das Forum l\u00f6ste am 24. September 2013 die Kommission f\u00fcr nachhaltige Entwicklung ab.<\/p>

Im Jahr 2023 \u00fcberpr\u00fcfte das HLPF eingehend die Ziele 6 zu sauberem Wasser und Sanit\u00e4rversorgung, 7 zu bezahlbarer und sauberer Energie, 9 zu Industrie, Innovation und Infrastruktur, 11 zu nachhaltigen St\u00e4dten und Gemeinden und 17 zu Partnerschaften f\u00fcr die Ziele.<\/p>

Als ich also eine Woche vor dem Forum ankam und unsere UNNGO-Vertreterinnen Janet Palafox ibvm und Cynthia Mathew cj traf, konnten wir Treffen mit der St\u00e4ndigen Vertretung unseres eigenen Landes vereinbaren. Nat\u00fcrlich hatte ich vor meiner Ankunft in New York den 365-Bericht der irischen Regierung studiert. Es war offensichtlich, dass Irland im gesamten Bereich der SDGs wirklich Fortschritte macht. Dennoch gab es drei Punkte, die ich gegen\u00fcber der irischen Regierung ansprechen wollte.<\/p>

Es gelang uns, ein sehr informatives Treffen mit dem St\u00e4ndigen Vertreter Irlands bei den Vereinten Nationen, Botschafter Fergal Mythen, zu f\u00fchren, bei dem ich meine Anliegen darlegen konnte. Bevor der Botschafter die einst\u00fcndigen Diskussionen verlie\u00df, nahm er eine Einladung an, nach seiner R\u00fcckkehr in Irland einige unserer Schulen zu besuchen. Botschafter Mythen lud mich auch zu einem Treffen mit irischen NGOs ein, die am HLPF teilnahmen, das in der folgenden Woche mit unserem Minister f\u00fcr Umwelt und Verkehr, Eamonn Ryan TD, stattfand. Es war auch eine sehr produktive \u00dcbung, bei der Janet und ich viele Iren trafen, die sich f\u00fcr die SDGs engagieren, darunter junge Menschen, die entweder an der Berichterstattung bei den Vereinten Nationen beteiligt waren oder dort als Praktikanten arbeiteten.<\/p>

Ich staunte wirklich jeden Tag, als das eigentliche Forum stattfand und wir Zeuge wurden, wie die verschiedenen L\u00e4nder den anderen 197 L\u00e4ndern Bericht erstatteten, eine unvergessliche Erinnerung. Ich freute mich jeden Abend darauf, dass JCOR (Justice Coalition of the Religious) es allen Ordensleuten erm\u00f6glichte, zusammenzukommen und ihre Erfahrungen des Tages auszutauschen. Ich empfand dies als eine sehr bereichernde Zeit, da wir Ordensleute aus allen Kontinenten trafen, alle mit einem gemeinsamen Ziel und Gleichgesinnten.<\/p>

Ich habe immer noch die Erfahrung, dass so viele L\u00e4nder zusammenkommen, um die Entwicklung der SDGs voranzutreiben. Als die Woche zu Ende ging, hatte ich zum ersten Mal wirklich das Gef\u00fchl, einigerma\u00dfen vollst\u00e4ndig zu verstehen, worum es bei den Vereinten Nationen geht. Au\u00dferdem versp\u00fcrte ich den gro\u00dfen Wunsch, mein neues Verst\u00e4ndnis und meinen neuen Enthusiasmus nach Irland zur\u00fcckzubringen.<\/p>

Seitdem habe ich die Nachricht erhalten, dass Botschafter Mythen uns im Oktober besuchen wird, und ich nehme Kontakt zu denjenigen auf, die sich f\u00fcr ein Engagement in der Zivilgesellschaft interessieren. Nun, das ist ein ganz anderer Bericht \u00fcber neue Verbindungen und Freundschaften, die in New York entstanden sind, nun ja, das ist auch f\u00fcr einen anderen Tag\u2026…<\/p>
