Das Parlament der Weltreligionen 2023 fand vom 14. bis 18. August 2023 statt und kehrte an seinen Geburtsort in Chicago, Illinois, zur\u00fcck. Es handelt sich um das weltweit f\u00fchrende interreligi\u00f6se Treffen ziviler, spiritueller und basisdemokratischer Ver\u00e4nderer. Das diesj\u00e4hrige Thema war \u201eEin Aufruf an das Gewissen: Freiheit und Menschenrechte verteidigen\u201c.<\/p>

\u00dcber 7.000 Menschen aus 95 L\u00e4ndern und 210 Traditionen nahmen an der Veranstaltung teil. Zw\u00f6lf Mitglieder der Familie Mary Ward aus den USA, Kanada, Spanien, Australien und Spanien nahmen teil. Es war eine wirklich generations\u00fcbergreifende Gruppe, zu der IBVMs, CJs, Kollegen und zwei junge Leute geh\u00f6rten. Die Gruppe teilte die Veranstaltungen mit, an denen sie interessiert war, und teilte die daraus gewonnenen Informationen mit. Bei der Auswahl aus Hunderten von Programmen war es keine leichte Aufgabe, da sie alle sehr interessant aussahen.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>

Gemeinsam mit dem Mary Ward Centre, Kanada, haben wir ein Programm eingereicht und wurden als Gastgeber angenommen – Gespr\u00e4che, die wichtig sind: Ein Modell eines von Jugendlichen gef\u00fchrten Dialogs zwischen den Generationen \u00fcber Rechte und Freiheit<\/em>. Moderiert von drei jungen Menschen unterschiedlichen Glaubens f\u00fchrten sie die Teilnehmer unterschiedlichen Alters in drei Gespr\u00e4chskreisen zu den Themen Umwelt, Demokratie und psychische Gesundheit. Die Gespr\u00e4che waren bereichernd und abwechslungsreich, wobei die Kreise wieder zur gesamten Gruppe zur\u00fcckkehrten und ihre wichtigsten Kernpunkte teilten. Die meisten Menschen gaben an, dass sie die Gelegenheit zum Dialog mit Menschen unterschiedlicher Herkunft und unterschiedlichen Alters genossen h\u00e4tten.\u00a0<\/p>

Es gab eine Reihe von Hauptrednern verschiedener Glaubensrichtungen, darunter der Erzbischof von Chicago, Kardinal Blase J. Cupich und Marianne Williamson, zwei der mehreren Hauptredner, die sich w\u00e4hrend einer Plenarsitzung mit dem Thema Gewissen befassten. Der UN-Generalsekret\u00e4r Antonio Guterres, Dr. Jane Goodall und andere schickten Videobotschaften. Rev. Jesse Jackson erhielt vom Parlament der Weltreligionen eine Anerkennung f\u00fcr sein Lebenswerk f\u00fcr seine guten Taten und seinen Einsatz f\u00fcr die Menschenrechte.\u00a0<\/p>

Es waren f\u00fcr uns alle sehr erf\u00fcllte f\u00fcnf Tage und dennoch waren wir von dieser Erfahrung voller Energie.
