Ich bin derzeit Studentin am Loreto Convent Msongari und auch Jugendanw\u00e4ltin der NGO Institute of The Blessed Virgin Mary (IBVM). Ich war auf der UN-Konferenz der Zivilgesellschaft, als mein Freund Keendi und meine Lehrerin, Frau Phylice Nyabate, von unserem Rektor gebeten wurden, die NGO IBVM auf der Konferenz zu vertreten. Ich war so aufgeregt, eine so gro\u00dfartige Gelegenheit zu bekommen, dass ich in dieser Nacht kaum schlafen konnte.<\/p>

Als ich das Gigiri-Hauptquartier der Vereinten Nationen erreichte, war ich etwas ver\u00e4ngstigt, weil ich nicht damit gerechnet hatte, so viele Menschen auf der Konferenz anzutreffen. Nachdem wir jedoch unsere Ansichten ausgetauscht und gesehen hatten, wie die Menschen frei f\u00fcr ihre Rechte k\u00e4mpften, gew\u00f6hnte ich mich schlie\u00dflich daran und all meine Angst verschwand. Das motivierte meine Kollegen und mich wirklich, aufzustehen und f\u00fcr unsere Rechte einzutreten, insbesondere nachdem wir Menschen gesehen hatten, die sich mutig f\u00fcr die Rechte der Jugend und zuk\u00fcnftiger Generationen einsetzten. Das versicherte mir, dass meine Zukunft und die Zukunft anderer Jugendlicher wie mir sicher war. Ich erfuhr auch von den verschiedenen Problemen, mit denen Menschen auf der ganzen Welt konfrontiert sind, was mich sogar zu Tr\u00e4nen r\u00fchrte, insbesondere \u00fcber die Situation im Kongo mit all dem anhaltenden V\u00f6lkermord.<\/p>

Ich hatte die Ehre, an einem Treffen mit der stellvertretenden Exekutivdirektorin von UN Women, Nyaradzayi Gumbonzvanda, teilzunehmen, bei dem wir einige Probleme besprachen, mit denen Frauen und junge M\u00e4dchen auf der ganzen Welt konfrontiert sind. Ich konnte eine kurze Rede \u00fcber geschlechtsspezifische Gewalt halten, in der ich einige ihrer Ursachen aufzeigte, beispielsweise kulturelle \u00dcberzeugungen, die dazu f\u00fchren, dass die meisten Frauen still leiden.<\/p>

Ich habe mich auch einigen Koalitionen angeschlossen. Eine davon war \u201eKinderrechte und -beteiligung\u201c, wo wir dar\u00fcber diskutierten, wie Kinder f\u00fcr ihre Rechte eintreten k\u00f6nnen und nicht untergraben werden. Eine andere war \u201eDrogenpolitik f\u00fcr die Zukunft\u201c, wo wir dar\u00fcber diskutierten, wie man Drogenmissbrauch stoppen kann. Wir erkannten, dass der beste Weg, dies zu erreichen, die Finanzierung von Aufkl\u00e4rung \u00fcber die Auswirkungen von Drogenmissbrauch ist. Denn es ist billiger, Bewusstsein zu schaffen, als die bereits vom Drogenmissbrauch Betroffenen zu heilen.<\/p>

Mein Fazit der Konferenz war, dass \u201edie Energie, Kreativit\u00e4t und der Idealismus der Jugend das Potenzial haben, eine bessere Zukunft zu gestalten.\u201c Allerdings stehen sie vor zahlreichen Hindernissen, die ihre Entwicklung bedrohen, insbesondere im Hinblick auf den Zugang zu Chancen.<\/p>

Leider musste die Konferenz zu Ende gehen. Der Pr\u00e4sident Kenias, Seine Exzellenz William Samoei Ruto, konnte an der Abschlusszeremonie teilnehmen und uns mit einer wunderbaren Rede beehren. Danach musste ich zum Flughafen eilen, um meinen R\u00fcckflug nicht zu verpassen, da ich mich auf die bald beginnende Schul\u00f6ffnung vorbereiten musste.<\/p>

Ich kann mit Stolz sagen, dass meine Erfahrung bei der UN-Zivilgesellschaftskonferenz wirklich sch\u00f6n war und dass ich ohne Zweifel gerne an einer weiteren teilnehmen w\u00fcrde, wenn ich die Gelegenheit dazu h\u00e4tte.<\/p>
