Am 11. Oktober, dem Internationalen M\u00e4dchentag (IDG), besetzten \u00fcber zweihundert M\u00e4dchen mutig den Saal des UN-Wirtschaftsrats, um w\u00e4hrend des IDG-Gipfels Girls Speak Out \u2013 Girl Action Conference & Townhall die Rechte von M\u00e4dchen auf globaler Ebene zu feiern, zu f\u00fchren und zu verteidigen. Das diesj\u00e4hrige Thema \u201eDie Vision der M\u00e4dchen f\u00fcr die Zukunft\u201c ist zutiefst aktuell, da wir uns im Jahr 2025 dem 30. Jahrestag der Erkl\u00e4rung und Aktionsplattform von Peking n\u00e4hern. Dieses wegweisende Dokument war der erste internationale Rahmen, der die Ungleichheiten identifizierte, mit denen M\u00e4dchen konfrontiert sind, und einen Weg zur vollst\u00e4ndigen Verwirklichung ihrer Rechte vorgab. Beim diesj\u00e4hrigen IDG haben wir nicht nur die in den letzten drei Jahrzehnten erzielten Erfolge gew\u00fcrdigt, sondern auch die unvollendete Arbeit beleuchtet, die unsere dringende Aufmerksamkeit erfordert.<\/p>

Die Veranstaltung begann mit einer elektrisierenden Step-Performance einer Gruppe junger Studenten aus Brooklyn, die den Saal mit Energie und Geist erf\u00fcllte. Diese fesselnde Kunstform \u2013 verwurzelt in afrikanischen Traditionen und durchdrungen von der Popkultur \u2013 kombinierte kraftvolle Bewegungen und rhythmische Vokalisationen und schuf so eine lebendige Atmosph\u00e4re, die die Bedeutung des bevorstehenden Tages signalisierte.<\/p>

Zu den inspirierenden Stimmen geh\u00f6rte Ruby, eine Mary Ward-Jugendanw\u00e4ltin aus Nepal, die als virtuelle Moderatorin fungierte. Als Sch\u00fclerin der St. Mary's School wurde Ruby als virtuelle M\u00e4dchenanw\u00e4ltin der Working Group on Girls (WGG) ausgew\u00e4hlt. In Zusammenarbeit mit ihren Mitanw\u00e4ltinnen Elena, Beatriz, Allison und Kidist sowie den Aktivistinnen Aarohi und Jordan spielte sie eine entscheidende Rolle bei der Ausarbeitung des Programms und des Drehbuchs f\u00fcr Speak Out. Obwohl Ruby ihre Er\u00f6ffnungsrede nicht live halten konnte, wurde ihr eindrucksvolles Video einem Publikum aus Vertretern der Mitgliedstaaten, Leitern von UN-Agenturen und M\u00e4dchenanw\u00e4ltinnen gezeigt. Rubys Leidenschaft und Entschlossenheit, politische Entscheidungstr\u00e4ger einzubeziehen, strahlten durch, als sie sie aufforderte, konkrete Schritte zu unternehmen, um die Rechte von M\u00e4dchen Wirklichkeit werden zu lassen.<\/p>

Die Girl Advocates berichteten eindringlich \u00fcber ihre Geschichten und ihre Lobbyarbeit und machten auf die dringende Notwendigkeit von Ver\u00e4nderungen in ihren Gemeinden aufmerksam. Sie pr\u00e4sentierten den F\u00fchrungspers\u00f6nlichkeiten ihre Empfehlungen und formulierten die dringendsten Bed\u00fcrfnisse der M\u00e4dchen heute, um ihre Rechte und ihre Zukunft zu sichern.<\/p>

Die Mitgliedstaaten und UN-Organisationen standen vor dr\u00e4ngenden Fragen:
\u2013 Wie k\u00f6nnen wir M\u00e4dchen in ihrer ganzen Vielfalt aktiv ermutigen und einbeziehen, damit sie an Bildung, wirtschaftlichen Chancen und b\u00fcrgerschaftlichem Engagement teilhaben k\u00f6nnen?
\u2013 Welche konkreten Ma\u00dfnahmen k\u00f6nnen umgesetzt werden, um die Sicherheit und das Wohlbefinden von M\u00e4dchen sowohl online als auch offline zu gew\u00e4hrleisten?
\u2013 Wie k\u00f6nnen Regierungen die psychische Aufkl\u00e4rung und Unterst\u00fctzung von M\u00e4dchen zu einer globalen Priorit\u00e4t machen?<\/p>

Obwohl keine der Mary Ward Girl Advocates pers\u00f6nlich in der UN ECOSOC-Kammer anwesend war, war ihre Wirkung weithin sp\u00fcrbar. F\u00fcnf Sch\u00fclerinnen der Loreto Convent School in Kenia nahmen an der von UN Women ausgerichteten IDG-Veranstaltung teil, die im UN-B\u00fcro in Nairobi stattfand. Und viele unserer Schulen veranstalteten lokale IDG Speak Out-Veranstaltungen, die sich am Girls Speak Out 2024 Playbook orientierten und einen Welleneffekt der Erm\u00e4chtigung ausl\u00f6sten.<\/p>

Im Vorfeld des M\u00e4dchentags wurde am 1. Oktober die Kampagne \u201e11 Days of Action\u201c gestartet, die den Stimmen von M\u00e4dchenaktivistinnen Geh\u00f6r verschafft und kritische Fragen rund um die Rechte von M\u00e4dchen anspricht, insbesondere jene, die in der Aktionsplattform von Peking hervorgehoben wurden und noch nicht umgesetzt wurden. Sch\u00fclerinnen reichten eine Vielzahl kreativer Arbeiten ein \u2013 Videos, Kunstwerke, Essays und Gedichte \u2013 die in den sozialen Medien gezeigt wurden und die Wirkung der Kampagne verst\u00e4rkten.<\/p>

Die diesj\u00e4hrigen IDG waren mehr als eine Feier; sie waren ein lautstarker Aufruf zum Handeln. Sie vereinten M\u00e4dchen auf der ganzen Welt in ihrem Streben nach Gleichheit, Sicherheit und Selbstbestimmung und machten deutlich, dass die Zeit f\u00fcr Ver\u00e4nderungen jetzt gekommen ist. Gemeinsam stehen wir an der Schwelle zu einer transformativen Zukunft, angetrieben von den unersch\u00fctterlichen Stimmen und Visionen von M\u00e4dchen auf der ganzen Welt.<\/p>
