COP24 ist die informelle Bezeichnung f\u00fcr die 24. Tagung der Konferenz der Vertragsparteien des Rahmen\u00fcbereinkommens der Vereinten Nationen \u00fcber Klima\u00e4nderungen (UNFCCC). Sie findet vom 2. bis 14. Dezember 2018 in Kattowitz, Polen, statt. W\u00e4hrend sich die Mitgliedsstaaten vorbereiten, fordern Kirchenf\u00fchrer die Regierungen auf der ganzen Welt auf, ihre Klimaschutzbem\u00fchungen zu verst\u00e4rken, und fordern eine \u201eehrgeizige Umsetzung\u201c des Pariser Abkommens. Am 26. Oktober 2018 unterzeichneten die Pr\u00e4sidenten von sechs kontinentalen Bischofskonferenzen der Katholischen Kirche ein Dokument, in dem sie an die Regierungschefs appellierten, unverz\u00fcglich Ma\u00dfnahmen zur Bek\u00e4mpfung des Klimawandels zu ergreifen, um die katastrophalen Auswirkungen der Klimakrise abzuwenden.
