Haben Sie schon vom Globalen Programm \u201eSafe Cities Free of Violence Against Women and Girls\u201c von UN Women oder der Global Safe City Initiative geh\u00f6rt? UN Women stellt fest: \u201eIn St\u00e4dten auf der ganzen Welt sind Frauen und M\u00e4dchen jeden Tag der Bedrohung durch sexuelle Bel\u00e4stigung und Gewalt im \u00f6ffentlichen Raum ausgesetzt, wenn sie ihrer t\u00e4glichen Routine nachgehen \u2013 sei es auf den Stra\u00dfen der Stadt, in Bussen und Bahnen oder in ihren eigene Nachbarschaften. Diese Missbr\u00e4uche schr\u00e4nken die Freiheit der Frauen als gleichberechtigte B\u00fcrgerinnen ein, das st\u00e4dtische Umfeld zu genie\u00dfen und ihre Rechte auf Bildung, Arbeit, Erholung, kollektive Organisation und Teilnahme am politischen Leben auszu\u00fcben\u201c. Reichtum sch\u00fctzt Frauen und M\u00e4dchen nicht vor Gewalt. Doch Menschen, die in Armut oder marginalisierten Gemeinschaften leben, sind oft gr\u00f6\u00dferen Risiken ausgesetzt. Obwohl das Leben unz\u00e4hliger Millionen Frauen und M\u00e4dchen gest\u00f6rt wird, wird dieses Missbrauchsmuster als fester Bestandteil des Stadtlebens weithin toleriert. Auch wenn die Medien und insbesondere die sozialen Medien in einigen St\u00e4dten auf extrem gewaltt\u00e4tige F\u00e4lle aufmerksam gemacht haben, bleibt das Thema Gewalt gegen Frauen im \u00f6ffentlichen Raum ein weitgehend vernachl\u00e4ssigtes Thema. Trotz der sozialen und wirtschaftlichen Kosten f\u00fcr Einzelpersonen, Familien und Gemeinschaften gibt es nur wenige Gesetze oder Richtlinien, die sich damit befassen.
