Basierend auf Haushaltsumfragen auf der ganzen Welt zeigen die Berichte, dass Anfang 2020 160 Millionen Kinder \u2013 63 Millionen M\u00e4dchen und 97 Millionen Jungen \u2013 in Kinderarbeit waren. Erschreckenderweise war fast die H\u00e4lfte aller Kinderarbeitskr\u00e4fte direkt an gef\u00e4hrlicher Arbeit beteiligt die ihre Gesundheit, Sicherheit und moralische Entwicklung gef\u00e4hrden.<\/p><p>Zunehmend besorgniserregend ist die Situation in Subsahara-Afrika, wo mehr Kinder in Kinderarbeit arbeiten als im Rest der Welt zusammen. Weitere Dimensionen des weltweiten Kinderarbeitsprofils sind:<\/p><ul><li>Die Beteiligung an Kinderarbeit ist bei Jungen in allen Altersstufen h\u00f6her als bei M\u00e4dchen (au\u00dfer wenn die Definition von Kinderarbeit auf die Hausarbeit erweitert wird!)<\/li><li>Kinderarbeit ist in l\u00e4ndlichen Gebieten viel h\u00e4ufiger<\/li><li>Die meiste Kinderarbeit \u2013 sowohl bei Jungen als auch bei M\u00e4dchen \u2013 findet nach wie vor in der Landwirtschaft statt<\/li><li>Der gr\u00f6\u00dfte Teil der Kinderarbeit findet innerhalb von Familien statt<\/li><\/ul><p>Die Covid-19-Krise erh\u00f6ht weiterhin das Risiko von Kinderarbeit, versch\u00e4rft durch einen starken Anstieg der Armut, der die Abh\u00e4ngigkeit von Familien von Kinderarbeit erh\u00f6ht. Als Folge der durch die Pandemie verursachten Armut und einer Verringerung der Sozialschutzma\u00dfnahmen und der Arbeitsplatz\u00fcberwachung gehen neue Analysen davon aus, dass bis Ende 2022 weitere 8,9 Millionen Kinder in Kinderarbeit sein werden.<\/p><p>Kinderarbeit wird h\u00e4ufig damit in Verbindung gebracht, dass Kinder nicht zur Schule gehen. Ein gro\u00dfer Teil der j\u00fcngeren Kinder in Kinderarbeit wird von der Schule ausgeschlossen, obwohl sie in die Altersspanne f\u00fcr die Schulpflicht fallen. Kinderarbeiter haben M\u00fche, die Anforderungen von Schule und Arbeit gleichzeitig zu vereinbaren, wodurch ihre Bildung, ihr Recht auf Freizeit und ihre Zukunftsaussichten auf Arbeit beeintr\u00e4chtigt werden. Seit M\u00e4rz 2020 verwehren Covid-bedingte Schulschlie\u00dfungen Familien die logische Alternative, Kinder zur Arbeit zu schicken.<\/p><p>Die Berichte von IAO und UNICEF heben zahlreiche politische Notwendigkeiten zur Reduzierung der Kinderarbeit hervor. Von besonderem Interesse f\u00fcr unser Mary Ward-Netzwerk ist die Notwendigkeit, sich mit Geschlechternormen und Diskriminierung zu befassen, die das Risiko von Kinderarbeit erh\u00f6hen, insbesondere im Zusammenhang mit der versteckten Arbeit von M\u00e4dchen bei Hausarbeit und unbezahlter Hausarbeit. Abgesehen von offensichtlichen Ma\u00dfnahmen, wie der Ausweitung des sozialen Schutzes f\u00fcr Familien und der Gew\u00e4hrleistung einer kostenlosen und qualitativ hochwertigen Schulbildung, sind wir aufgefordert, die Risiken von Kinderarbeit in nationalen und globalen Lieferketten anzugehen und auf das erh\u00f6hte Risiko von Kinderarbeit in zunehmenden Krisen und Konflikten aufmerksam zu machen und Katastrophen.<\/p><p>Die Covid-19-Pandemie zeigt, dass internationale Zusammenarbeit und Partnerschaft bei der Bew\u00e4ltigung globaler Herausforderungen m\u00f6glich sind. Unser Engagement von Mary Ward f\u00fcr: die SDGs, den Aktionsplan von Laudato Si und die Aktion\/Sensibilisierung w\u00e4hrend des Jahres zur Beseitigung der Kinderarbeit am 12. eines jeden Monats beinhaltet das Versprechen, bis 2025 zur Beendigung der Kinderarbeit beizutragen.
