Kathryn schloss sich einer gro\u00dfen Gruppe religi\u00f6ser NGOs an, die sich f\u00fcr ein Verbot des Tiefseebergbaus und den Schutz kleiner Inselstaaten einsetzen.<\/p><p>Sie nahm t\u00e4glich von 22 bis 15 Uhr an der Er\u00f6ffnungsfeier und den Treffen teil. Kathryn traf eine Reihe von Menschen, die offenbar eine Verbindung zur IBVM (Loreto-Schwestern) haben. Aber es waren die Treffen und Veranstaltungen, die von religi\u00f6sen NGOs organisiert wurden, die einen Eindruck auf sie machten. Das Gremium bestand aus Indigenen und Menschen, die mit den Menschen zusammenarbeiteten, die am st\u00e4rksten vom Klimawandel betroffen waren.<\/p><p>Kathryn schreibt:\u00a0<em>Das Treffen stand im krassen Gegensatz zu den anderen Treffen, bei denen die politischen Entscheidungstr\u00e4ger Erkl\u00e4rungen und Versprechen abgeben. Diese Menschen sprachen aus tiefstem Herzen, als sie den Ozean als ihr Lebenselixier beschrieben. Jeder erz\u00e4hlte seine eigene Geschichte \u00fcber die Trag\u00f6die der Meeresverschmutzung und die Auswirkungen. Jede Geschichte war anders, aber was sie gemeinsam hatten, waren die Emotionen und sogar die Tr\u00e4nen, die beim Erz\u00e4hlen jeder einzelnen kamen. Sie sch\u00fctzten besonders ihre eigenen kleinen Inseln. Wir wurden daran erinnert, dass der Tiefseebergbau die Lebensgrundlage so vieler gef\u00e4hrdeter Menschen zerst\u00f6rt.<\/em><\/p><p><em>Am Anfang stand ein Gebet. Es war das erste Mal, dass es irgendeinen spirituellen Input gab. Als der Erzbischof sprach, war auch er sehr bewegt, aber er sprach entschieden von der Notwendigkeit einer Sprache der Spiritualit\u00e4t und einer Sprache der Wissenschaft. Der Tiefseebergbau zerst\u00f6rt unsere Erde. Der Erzbischof betonte die spirituelle Sprache und die Sprache der indigenen Nationen.<\/em><\/p><p><em>Weitere wichtige Themen, die im Laufe der Woche hervorgehoben wurden, waren: Verschmutzung der Ozeane, anhaltende Nutzung fossiler Brennstoffe und Missbrauch von Plastik. Zu den L\u00f6sungsvorschl\u00e4gen geh\u00f6rte \u201eOcean Literacy\u201c, d. h. die Notwendigkeit, Schulen st\u00e4rker f\u00fcr das Problem der Pflege der Ozeane zu sensibilisieren. Bessere Recherche und korrekte Informationen und Daten, damit Wissenschaftler und andere die Probleme und insbesondere illegale Aktivit\u00e4ten erkennen k\u00f6nnen.
