Vier unserer Mary Ward Youth Advocates hatten im vergangenen Oktober das Privileg, an zwei Webinaren teilzunehmen, als wir den 10. Jahrestag des Internationalen Tages des M\u00e4dchens feierten. Nachfolgend finden Sie ihre Gedanken zu den Webinaren.<\/p>

Das erste Webinar, “#GirlsRightsNow for Climate Justice” Gastgeber: IBVM UNNGO, VIVAT International und Dominikanische F\u00fchrung. Es fand am 7. Oktober um 10 Uhr EST statt, was f\u00fcr uns fast 19:30 Uhr abends war. Es war eine augen\u00f6ffnende Sitzung mit drei Rednerinnen von Aktivistinnen.<\/p>

Tariro und Ashley sind studentische Aktivisten in Simbabwe und Aarna ist eine erst 12-j\u00e4hrige Sch\u00fclerin von Loreto Delhi. Ziel der Sitzung war es, den untrennbaren Zusammenhang zwischen Klimagerechtigkeit und Geschlechterungleichheit zu untersuchen. Insbesondere Aarna erz\u00e4hlte von ihrer inspirierenden Reise mit \u00fcber 2.000 Sch\u00fclern zum Thema Klimaaktivismus, von sonnt\u00e4glichen Aufr\u00e4umaktionen bis hin zur Entwicklung eines Schuhs aus recyceltem Einwegplastik und Reifen.<\/p>

Wie k\u00f6nnen wir dem klimabedingten Schulabbruch von M\u00e4dchen entgegenwirken? Warum brauchen wir mehr politische Beteiligung von Frauen, um f\u00fcr Klimagerechtigkeit zu k\u00e4mpfen? Durch ihre individuellen Erfahrungen und Beitr\u00e4ge gingen die Referenten auf diese relevanten Fragen ein.<\/p>

Das zweite Webinar, das am 11. Oktober um 15:00 Uhr EST (12:30 Uhr IST f\u00fcr uns) stattfand, trug den Titel \u201e2022 IDG Girls Speak Out\u201c. Es handelte sich um eine Podiumsdiskussion zwischen Frauenaktivisten aus verschiedenen Teilen der Welt und den UN-Konsulaten. In der Sitzung sprachen diese Redner \u00fcber verschiedene Themen, die von Bildung und St\u00e4rkung von Frauen bis hin zu Klimagerechtigkeit und Umweltaktivismus reichten.<\/p>

Eine dieser Rednerinnen war Samantha, eine nigerianische Frauenrechtsaktivistin, die sich darauf spezialisiert hat, M\u00e4dchen dabei zu helfen, aus missbr\u00e4uchlichen Situationen herauszukommen. Sie beleuchtete die vielen Schrecken in ihrem Land, wie etwa die Kommerzialisierung sexueller Beziehungen und Vergewaltigungen. Die Redner Hereiti, Maka und Vivian sowie viele andere fordern die politischen Entscheidungstr\u00e4ger und F\u00fchrer der Nationen auf, Ma\u00dfnahmen zu ergreifen
hielt wirkungsvolle und bedeutungsvolle Reden.<\/p>

Die Vertreter der UN-Mitgliedsstaaten Kanada, T\u00fcrkei und Peru, die UNICEF-Vertreterin Karin Hulshof und die Exekutivdirektorin von UN Women, Sima Bahous, betonten die dringende Notwendigkeit, das Tempo der St\u00e4rkung und F\u00f6rderung von Frauen zu beschleunigen. Das Treffen fand in einer hybriden Form statt, an der M\u00e4dchen- und Jugendanw\u00e4lte teilnahmen, die sowohl virtuell als auch pers\u00f6nlich im UN-Hauptquartier in New York anwesend waren. Alles in allem war die Sitzung eindringlich und kraftvoll, an die man sich noch viele Jahre erinnern wird.<\/p>
