El Parlamento de las Religiones del Mundo de 2023 se celebr\u00f3 del 14 al 18 de agosto de 2023 y regres\u00f3 a su lugar de nacimiento en Chicago, Illinois. Es la principal reuni\u00f3n interreligiosa del mundo de agentes de cambio c\u00edvicos, espirituales y de base. El tema de este a\u00f1o fue "Un llamado a la conciencia: defendiendo la libertad y los derechos humanos".<\/p>

M\u00e1s de 7.000 personas de 95 pa\u00edses y 210 tradiciones asistieron al evento. Participaron doce miembros de la familia Mary Ward de Estados Unidos, Canad\u00e1, Espa\u00f1a, Australia y Espa\u00f1a. Era un grupo verdaderamente intergeneracional que inclu\u00eda IBVM, CJ, compa\u00f1eros de trabajo y dos j\u00f3venes. El grupo comparti\u00f3 los eventos a los que estaban interesados en asistir y comparti\u00f3 la informaci\u00f3n que obtuvieron de ellos. Con cientos de programas para elegir, no fue una tarea f\u00e1cil ya que todos parec\u00edan muy interesantes.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>

Junto con Mary Ward Centre (Canad\u00e1), presentamos y fuimos aceptados para organizar un programa – Conversaciones que importan: un modelo de di\u00e1logo intergeneracional dirigido por j\u00f3venes sobre derechos y libertades<\/em>. Moderados por tres j\u00f3venes de diversa fe, guiaron a los participantes de distintas edades en tres c\u00edrculos de conversaci\u00f3n sobre los temas de medio ambiente, democracia y salud mental. Las conversaciones fueron enriquecedoras y diversas y los c\u00edrculos regresaron al grupo completo y compartieron sus puntos principales. La mayor\u00eda de las personas comentaron que disfrutaron la oportunidad de dialogar con personas de diversos or\u00edgenes y edades.\u00a0<\/p>

Hubo varios oradores principales de diversas religiones, incluido el Arzobispo de Chicago, el Cardenal Blase J. Cupich y Marianne Williamson, dos de los varios oradores principales que abordaron el tema de la conciencia durante una de las sesiones plenarias. El secretario general de la ONU, Antonio Guterres, la doctora Jane Goodall y otros enviaron mensajes en v\u00eddeo.
