Lo invitamos a unirse a nosotros en nuestro evento paralelo del 62\u00ba per\u00edodo de sesiones de la Comisi\u00f3n de Desarrollo Social (CSocD62). El evento paralelo virtual CSocD62, “No dejar atr\u00e1s a las generaciones futuras: \u00bfC\u00f3mo superamos la creciente brecha entre generaciones y comunidades?”<\/em> es organizado conjuntamente con las Hermanas Maryknoll de Santo Domingo, VIVAT Internacional y las Hermanas de la Misi\u00f3n M\u00e9dica se llevar\u00e1n a cabo el 8 de febrero (jueves) desde las 9:45 – 11 a. m. hora del este<\/strong>.<\/p>

El tema prioritario CSocD62 es “Fomentar el desarrollo social y la justicia social a trav\u00e9s de pol\u00edticas sociales para acelerar el progreso en la implementaci\u00f3n de la Agenda 2030 para el Desarrollo Sostenible y lograr el objetivo general de erradicar la pobreza.”<\/em>\u00a0Los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible para 2030 priorizan la erradicaci\u00f3n de la pobreza, pero no estamos en camino de lograrlo. El Informe del Secretario General de 2023 advierte que alrededor de 575 millones de personas, incluidos 340 millones de mujeres y ni\u00f1as, podr\u00edan seguir viviendo en pobreza extrema en 2030. La pobreza es una cuesti\u00f3n de g\u00e9nero y generacional que afecta desproporcionadamente a los j\u00f3venes, y m\u00e1s de 1.800 millones de j\u00f3venes en todo el mundo enfrentan obst\u00e1culos a pesar de ser la generaci\u00f3n m\u00e1s numerosa.<\/p>

El impacto de la pandemia de COVID-19 ha empeorado los desaf\u00edos econ\u00f3micos para los j\u00f3venes, particularmente aquellos de entornos socioecon\u00f3micos m\u00e1s bajos, y uno de cada cinco reporta p\u00e9rdidas de empleo. Para abordar esto, incorporar principios sociales, derechos humanos y la igualdad de oportunidades en las pol\u00edticas gubernamentales es crucial para lograr los objetivos de 2030. La participaci\u00f3n activa de los j\u00f3venes en la toma de decisiones es esencial para el \u00e9xito inmediato y a largo plazo.<\/p>

En este evento paralelo escucharemos las voces de mujeres j\u00f3venes y expertos en los campos de las peque\u00f1as empresas, las pol\u00edticas p\u00fablicas y el mundo acad\u00e9mico, y aprenderemos de sus experiencias en relaci\u00f3n con los impactos interseccionales de la pobreza. Tambi\u00e9n brindar\u00e1n recomendaciones de pol\u00edticas para sus gobiernos y l\u00edderes mundiales, especialmente pol\u00edticas que se basen en los principios de justicia social.
