El 11 de abril de 2024, treinta (30) j\u00f3venes y j\u00f3venes aliados se reunieron de todo Canad\u00e1 para un evento en l\u00ednea titulado Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible de la ONU: Acci\u00f3n Juvenil Colaborativa.<\/em> Este seminario web es el primero de una serie de educaci\u00f3n y promoci\u00f3n patrocinada por el Centro Mary Ward, el Ministerio para la Paz, la Justicia Social y el Cuidado de la Creaci\u00f3n de las Hermanas de San Jos\u00e9 de Toronto, el Centro para Refugiados FCJ y la Red de J\u00f3venes del Consejo Canadiense para Refugiados.<\/p>

La serie de seminarios web tiene como objetivo capacitar a los j\u00f3venes reci\u00e9n llegados para que adquieran conocimientos sobre los ODS y defiendan lo que necesitan para prosperar. Durante el seminario web de abril, los j\u00f3venes aprendieron sobre el marco de los ODS y luego profundizaron en tres ODS que ser\u00e1n revisados por la ONU este verano: ODS 13 (Acci\u00f3n por el clima), ODS 16 (Paz, justicia e instituciones s\u00f3lidas) y ODS 17 (Alianzas para los Objetivos). A continuaci\u00f3n, se les anim\u00f3 a reflexionar sobre las interconexiones entre los ODS y sus propias vidas. \u00bfC\u00f3mo se ven afectados estos ODS por los j\u00f3venes reci\u00e9n llegados y si se logran? \u00bfC\u00f3mo se ven los ODS en sus comunidades?<\/em> Finalmente, los j\u00f3venes recibieron algunos consejos y herramientas de promoci\u00f3n sobre c\u00f3mo interactuar con funcionarios gubernamentales de cualquier nivel para hablar sobre los ODS.<\/p>

Los j\u00f3venes se marcharon con acceso a una infograf\u00eda sobre el compromiso pol\u00edtico y una hoja de consejos sobre promoci\u00f3n. Agradecemos la participaci\u00f3n de Empleo y Desarrollo Social de Canad\u00e1 como aliado de los j\u00f3venes, anim\u00e1ndolos a involucrarse pol\u00edticamente.<\/p>

El segundo seminario web de esta serie se llevar\u00e1 a cabo el 6 de junio.th<\/sup>. La intenci\u00f3n es brindar una oportunidad para que los j\u00f3venes participen en conversaciones con los tomadores de decisiones sobre los ODS y c\u00f3mo se cruzan con sus vidas como reci\u00e9n llegados. Se espera que los participantes encargados de tomar decisiones est\u00e9n representados por funcionarios de agencias de la ONU, pol\u00edticos locales y federales y funcionarios de departamentos gubernamentales.<\/p>

En el Centro Mary Ward, estamos comprometidos a caminar con los j\u00f3venes para ayudarlos a desarrollar todo su potencial. Esto incluye acompa\u00f1amiento en el compromiso pol\u00edtico y el empoderamiento para hacer realidad sus derechos. Buscamos educar y crear espacios para que los j\u00f3venes hagan que quienes tienen autoridad para tomar decisiones escuchen sus voces y permitir su plena participaci\u00f3n en los procesos de toma de decisiones.<\/p>
