Iniciado en 2020 y organizado por la escuela St. Agnes Loreto en Lucknow, en el evento participan muchas escuelas IBVM y CJ del sur de Asia ( India, Nepal y Bangladesh). Sor Janet Palafox ibvm pronunci\u00f3 las palabras de apertura y anim\u00f3 a los participantes a aprender de esta experiencia y a involucrarse en la pol\u00edtica local, nacional y global para abogar por el cambio social. Sor Cynthia Mathew pronunci\u00f3 las palabras de clausura y felicit\u00f3 a los estudiantes por la forma en que llevaron a cabo sus deliberaciones. Fue una oportunidad maravillosa para vincular a los estudiantes con el trabajo de la Oficina de ONG.<\/p><p>La simulaci\u00f3n del modelo de las Naciones Unidas es una forma eficaz de aprender sobre el funcionamiento de las Naciones Unidas. Las conferencias est\u00e1n organizadas por instituciones educativas como St. Agnes para involucrar a sus estudiantes en debates y di\u00e1logos diplom\u00e1ticos similares a los de las Naciones Unidas. Proporciona a los estudiantes exposici\u00f3n a los asuntos internacionales y una comprensi\u00f3n de las habilidades de diplomacia y negociaci\u00f3n.<\/p><p>El SAMUN de este a\u00f1o se centr\u00f3 en la importancia de educar a los j\u00f3venes sobre los ideales del conocimiento, la innovaci\u00f3n y, fundamentalmente, la VERDAD. Como dec\u00eda su folleto:<\/p><p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em>El mundo que heredan es carga de los j\u00f3venes, y cambiarlo es su deber y privilegio. Si queremos ver ideas y liderazgo que puedan generar un cambio suficientemente poderoso, debemos formar a los l\u00edderes de nuestro futuro sobre ideales de conocimiento, innovaci\u00f3n y verdad. La ignorancia y el estancamiento no tienen cabida en esta visi\u00f3n de nuestro futuro.<\/em><\/p><p>SAMUN 2021 brind\u00f3 a los estudiantes, de Year 8 a Year 12, la oportunidad de comprender las cuestiones fundamentales que amenazan la paz y la seguridad globales. Los estudiantes analizaron cuestiones relacionadas con la relaci\u00f3n entre Estados Unidos y el Reino Unido despu\u00e9s del Brexit; comercio y cooperaci\u00f3n multilateral; conflicto politico; integraci\u00f3n de migrantes y refugiados, especialmente mujeres y minor\u00edas de g\u00e9nero; respuesta global a los desastres naturales y construcci\u00f3n de ciudades m\u00e1s resilientes centr\u00e1ndose en los ODS 3, 10 y 13 (salud, reducci\u00f3n de las desigualdades y acci\u00f3n clim\u00e1tica). Los estudiantes participantes se expresaron con elocuencia, debatieron competentemente las posiciones de sus pa\u00edses y demostraron creatividad en sus deliberaciones.<\/p><p>Los estudiantes contaron con el apoyo de una junta ejecutiva que inclu\u00eda acad\u00e9micos, investigadores y exalumnos, eminentes oradores principales y un comit\u00e9 organizador dedicado compuesto por personal y estudiantes. Fue un grupo impresionante de personas las que guiaron las deliberaciones y brindaron asesoramiento, especialmente sobre la mec\u00e1nica de los procesos y t\u00e9cnicas del Modelo de las Naciones Unidas. Los estudiantes parec\u00edan haber disfrutado y aprendido de sus experiencias.<\/p><p>El Secretario General de este a\u00f1o fue Prateeksha Shukla, uno de nuestros Defensores de la Juventud. La Secretaria General del a\u00f1o anterior (2020) fue Riya Bhargava, nuestra actual representante juvenil en pr\u00e1cticas.
