En colaboraci\u00f3n con VIVAT International, Tarumitra y el Comit\u00e9 Ejecutivo Mundial de ONG (GNEC), organizamos un evento paralelo en la 66\u00aa Sesi\u00f3n de la Comisi\u00f3n sobre la Condici\u00f3n Jur\u00eddica y Social de la Mujer (CSW66). Escuchamos y aprendimos de mujeres y ni\u00f1as que son l\u00edderes en sus comunidades, instituciones y ONG locales.<\/p>

Las mujeres y las ni\u00f1as suelen ser las primeras v\u00edctimas cuando ocurren desastres relacionados con el cambio clim\u00e1tico. Ellos cargan con la mayor parte del trabajo de recuperaci\u00f3n junto con cargas extremas de trabajo dom\u00e9stico impuestas por la sociedad. Es fundamental que las mujeres y las ni\u00f1as, que constituyen casi la mitad de la poblaci\u00f3n mundial, est\u00e9n incluidas en la econom\u00eda global y en los procesos de toma de decisiones. Ellos son los custodios de nuestra Casa Com\u00fan y su trabajo debe ser reconocido.<\/p>

Devopriya Dutta, Coordinadora Juvenil y miembro juvenil de Praneta Rani de Tarumitra habl\u00f3 sobre su experiencia, trabajo y pasi\u00f3n por el cuidado del medio ambiente. Los estudiantes miembros de Tarumitra aprenden sobre cuestiones ecol\u00f3gicas y trabajan para proteger el medio ambiente.<\/p>

La Sra. Kana Mondal comparti\u00f3 su experiencia y la de la comunidad de Sundarban despu\u00e9s de los ciclones Amphan y Yaas. Habl\u00f3 de aprender a coser y comenzar su propio negocio. Ense\u00f1\u00f3 a otras mujeres de la comunidad para que ellas tambi\u00e9n pudieran obtener ingresos. Estas mujeres agricultoras son ‘campeonas del clima’ en su propio derecho.<\/p>
