En 2023, les \u00e9coles d'Irlande et d'Irlande du Nord ont \u00e9t\u00e9 invit\u00e9es \u00e0 soumettre des candidatures sur le th\u00e8me\u00a0: \u00ab\u00a0Style durable\u00a0: la mode rapide r\u00e9invent\u00e9e\u00a0\u00bb. Le concours visait \u00e0 donner aux \u00e9l\u00e8ves l'opportunit\u00e9 d'\u00eatre cr\u00e9atifs sur une question prioritaire de JPIC, en particulier l'importante question de la fast fashion, \u00e0 travers deux cat\u00e9gories : une pour les \u00e9coles secondaires et une pour les \u00e9coles primaires.<\/p>

Les gagnants du concours dans les deux cat\u00e9gories ont re\u00e7u des bons d'achat d'une valeur de 200 \u20ac pour le 1er prix et de 100 \u20ac pour le 2\u00e8me prix. Un jury ind\u00e9pendant poss\u00e9dant l'expertise pertinente a \u00e9t\u00e9 nomm\u00e9. Les juges de cette ann\u00e9e \u00e9taient Avril McGettigan du d\u00e9partement de costumes et de design de l'Inchicore College ; Deirdre O'Carroll, responsable de l'\u00e9ducation chez Green Campus\u00a0; et Jane Mellett, gestionnaire de programme chez Tr\u00f3caire.<\/p>

Les gagnants du concours des \u00e9coles Loreto Justice, Paix et Int\u00e9grit\u00e9 de la Cr\u00e9ation (JPIC) de cette ann\u00e9e ont re\u00e7u leurs prix le 8 mars 2024 lors d'un \u00e9v\u00e9nement zoom sp\u00e9cial qui a r\u00e9uni des \u00e9tudiants des \u00e9coles Loreto de tout le pays. Les laur\u00e9ats ont \u00e9t\u00e9 annonc\u00e9s lors du Rassemblement national de Loreto par Sr Noelle IBVM, directrice du Loreto Trust Board. L'\u00e9v\u00e9nement a r\u00e9uni des repr\u00e9sentants des \u00e9coles de Loreto, des Loreto Sisters et du Loreto Education Trust.<\/p>

Le rassemblement en ligne a non seulement permis de reconna\u00eetre les gagnants, mais a \u00e9galement offert aux participants l'opportunit\u00e9 de partager des id\u00e9es et de s'inspirer mutuellement sur la mani\u00e8re de relever les d\u00e9fis de JPIC. Une courte vid\u00e9o sur la Fast Fashion a \u00e9t\u00e9 diffus\u00e9e \u00e0 l'ouverture de l'\u00e9v\u00e9nement, soulignant les \u00e9missions et les d\u00e9chets cr\u00e9\u00e9s par la fast fashion et la n\u00e9cessit\u00e9 de d\u00e9velopper un syst\u00e8me d'achat de v\u00eatements d'occasion et fabriqu\u00e9s localement.<\/p>

Lors de l'annonce des gagnants du concours des \u00e9coles primaires, un montage vid\u00e9o des inscriptions des \u00e9coles primaires de Grange Road a \u00e9t\u00e9 projet\u00e9. Cela a \u00e9t\u00e9 suivi d'une courte conversation entre Sr Fionnuala IBVM du comit\u00e9 JPIC et Mme O'Neill de Grange Road, qui a expliqu\u00e9 comment les \u00e9l\u00e8ves avaient travaill\u00e9 en groupes.
Isi Frain et Moya Corser de Grange Road ont parl\u00e9 de leur projet, suivies par Eve Giblin et Aoife McKenna qui ont expliqu\u00e9 comment leur projet a interrog\u00e9 les \u00e9l\u00e8ves de 4e et 5e classe pour savoir o\u00f9 ils ach\u00e8tent leurs v\u00eatements et quels magasins vendent de la \u00ab fast fashion \u00bb. '. La classe de Mme Kinahan a expliqu\u00e9 comment elle avait g\u00e9r\u00e9 un magasin d'\u00e9change pour les \u00e9l\u00e8ves de la 3e \u00e0 la 6e classe. Aucun argent n'a \u00e9t\u00e9 impliqu\u00e9 et les objets restants ont \u00e9t\u00e9 collect\u00e9s et envoy\u00e9s \u00e0 l'\u00e9tranger sous forme de don caritatif au Kenya, o\u00f9 la s\u0153ur d'un \u00e9tudiant voyageait pour aider.<\/p>

Sr No\u00eblle a annonc\u00e9 les gagnants des \u00e9coles primaires. Le 1er prix a \u00e9t\u00e9 partag\u00e9 par Aoife McKenna et Eve Giblin, ainsi que par le groupe de classe de Mme Kinahan de Grange Road. Ils ont tous re\u00e7u un bon d'achat de 50 \u20ac. Isi Frain et Moya Corser ont remport\u00e9 le 2e prix et ont re\u00e7u un bon d'achat de 25 \u20ac.<\/p>

Les gagnants du concours du secondaire ont \u00e9t\u00e9 annonc\u00e9s apr\u00e8s la projection d'un montage vid\u00e9o de toutes les candidatures re\u00e7ues. Un appel t\u00e9l\u00e9phonique a \u00e9t\u00e9 men\u00e9 par Robert McGivney de Loreto Navan avec Evie Rothwell, \u00e9tudiante en TY, de Loreto Cavan. Elle a parl\u00e9 du projet sur lequel elle a travaill\u00e9 avec Muireann Donohoe et Caitlinn Crowe avec l'aide d'autres personnes. Leur titre \u00ab L'\u00e9l\u00e9gance au d\u00e9sespoir \u00bb repr\u00e9sentait une jeune fille habill\u00e9e en cygne, photographi\u00e9e au bord d'un lac. Le costume a \u00e9t\u00e9 fabriqu\u00e9 \u00e0 partir de briques de lait et de tissus recycl\u00e9s du d\u00e9partement artistique de l'\u00e9cole. Les \u00e9tudiants ont d\u00e9clar\u00e9 qu'ils voulaient mettre en \u00e9vidence le danger associ\u00e9 aux microplastiques dans l'eau et au cygne en tant qu'animal en voie de disparition. Soha Ali de Loreto Navan a \u00e9t\u00e9 interview\u00e9e \u00e0 propos du projet que les filles de sa classe ont entrepris sur le recyclage des pulls de No\u00ebl, qui ne sont g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement port\u00e9s qu'une seule fois. Ils l'ont fait gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 des appliqu\u00e9s.<\/p>

Sr No\u00eblle a soulign\u00e9 la difficult\u00e9 du jury en raison du niveau \u00e9lev\u00e9 de tous les projets. Les gagnants \u00e9taient : Le premier prix d'un bon de 200 \u20ac a \u00e9t\u00e9 attribu\u00e9 \u00e0 \u00ab Elegance in Despair \u00bb de Loreto Cavan ; le deuxi\u00e8me prix, un bon de 100 \u20ac, a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9cern\u00e9 \u00e0 \u00ab Book of Life \u00bb d'Adele Sakultye, Kate Grellier et Tori Graham de Loreto Cavan ; et le troisi\u00e8me prix d'un bon de 75 \u20ac a \u00e9t\u00e9 attribu\u00e9 \u00e0 Soha Ali de Loreto Navan.<\/p>

S\u0153ur Fionnuala a transmis un message aux participants de la part de l'une des juges, Avril McGettigan du d\u00e9partement de costumes et de design de l'Inchicore College, qui s'est d\u00e9crite comme \u00ab boulevers\u00e9e par le niveau \u00e9lev\u00e9 \u00bb des candidatures. Elle a exprim\u00e9 l'espoir de voir certains des candidats \u00e9tudier le design au troisi\u00e8me niveau. \u00c0 la fin de l'\u00e9v\u00e9nement, une vid\u00e9o intitul\u00e9e \u00ab\u00a0The Change of Climate\u00a0\u00bb avec des paroles de Julie Wornan et une musique de Simon & Garfunkel (Sound of Silence) a diffus\u00e9 l'\u00e9v\u00e9nement.<\/p>

Une fois le concours termin\u00e9, les commentaires suivants ont \u00e9t\u00e9 re\u00e7us de Brona Molloy, professeur d'art au Loreto College Cavan. "Au nom du Loreto College Cavan, les \u00e9tudiants et moi-m\u00eame vous remercions, ainsi que JPIC, pour les ch\u00e8ques cadeaux." Elle a ajout\u00e9 que lorsque les \u00e9tudiants ont particip\u00e9 au concours, ils ont d\u00e9clar\u00e9 que s'ils gagnaient un prix, celui-ci serait \u00ab utilis\u00e9 pour payer une activit\u00e9 pour tous les \u00e9tudiants qui ont aid\u00e9 \u00e0 confectionner la tenue \u00bb. Le prix, a-t-elle d\u00e9clar\u00e9, \u00ab a \u00e9t\u00e9 un formidable coup de pouce pour leur travail acharn\u00e9 et leurs efforts pour confectionner une tenue et prendre des photos sur place \u00bb.<\/p>

\u00ab S\u2019il vous pla\u00eet, continuez \u00e0 organiser le concours comme un concours de mode. De nombreuses \u00e9coles organisent le concours Junk Kouture et si peu ont la possibilit\u00e9 d'expliquer et d'exposer leur travail. 1 200 candidatures ont \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9alis\u00e9es lors de Junk Kouture 2024 et seules 160 tenues ont \u00e9t\u00e9 choisies. Cela demande tellement de temps et d\u2019efforts. Les \u00e9coles de Loreto ont la possibilit\u00e9 de cr\u00e9er notre propre version pour mettre en valeur la durabilit\u00e9 et l'environnement.<\/p>

Le concours de l'ann\u00e9e prochaine portera sur le th\u00e8me de l'\u00e9cologie.<\/p>
