Fourteen students from Loreto and CJ schools in Brazil, India, Mauritius, Nepal and the United Kingdom participated in an online Global Conversation Circles to discuss the Generation Equality Action Coalition Themes. Seventy girls from 18 countries shared their experience on the themes and put forward recommendation to address the issues faced by girls. The event was organised by the Working Group on Girls (WGG), in collaboration with NGO CSW, and was held during the 65th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW65) on March 16. The event was part of the NGO CSW65 Virtual Forum and was led by girls for girls.
Most of the participants facilitated the local Conversation Circles organised by their schools in the lead up to CSW65. A number of schools in our network held local Conversation Circles on at least one of the themes and submitted a summary report. WGG received a total of 87 reports from 26 countries. These reports were compiled and submitted to the UN Women to inform their policy and advocacy to member states.
