O ATD Quarto Mundo, tradicionalmente hospeda o evento oficial na Sede das Na\u00e7\u00f5es Unidas, destacando temas cr\u00edticos. Este ano, o destaque foi para &#8220;Trabalho Decente e Prote\u00e7\u00e3o Social: Colocar a dignidade em pr\u00e1tica para todos.&#8221;<\/p><p>Um desafio significativo no combate \u00e0 pobreza reside na situa\u00e7\u00e3o dif\u00edcil das pessoas envolvidas na economia informal. Estes indiv\u00edduos, muitas vezes vivendo em extrema pobreza, trabalham muitas vezes sem registo, onde n\u00e3o t\u00eam a protec\u00e7\u00e3o das regulamenta\u00e7\u00f5es laborais. Consequentemente, enfrentam condi\u00e7\u00f5es de trabalho exploradoras e sal\u00e1rios insuficientes. Estimativas da Organiza\u00e7\u00e3o Internacional do Trabalho (OIT) revelam que mais de dois mil milh\u00f5es de pessoas, quase dois ter\u00e7os da popula\u00e7\u00e3o activa mundial, se enquadram nesta categoria. Regi\u00f5es como a Am\u00e9rica Latina e a \u00c1frica Subsariana apresentam n\u00edveis particularmente elevados de informalidade.<\/p><p>Os migrantes sem documentos e os mais marginalizados enfrentam desafios an\u00e1logos, mesmo em pa\u00edses com leis laborais robustas. A falta de documenta\u00e7\u00e3o oficial torna-os suscet\u00edveis \u00e0 explora\u00e7\u00e3o por parte dos empregadores, sujeitando-os a sal\u00e1rios escassos e \u00e0 falta de benef\u00edcios laborais.<\/p><p>Testemunhos de v\u00e1rios indiv\u00edduos real\u00e7aram a dura realidade das condi\u00e7\u00f5es de trabalho inaceit\u00e1veis, atribu\u00eddas a leis laborais fracas ou a uma aplica\u00e7\u00e3o governamental negligente. As narrativas de migrantes sem documentos lan\u00e7aram luz sobre as suas experi\u00eancias com empregadores abusivos, sublinhando as vulnerabilidades que enfrentam.<\/p><p>Estat\u00edsticas alarmantes das Na\u00e7\u00f5es Unidas em 2020 revelaram que mais de metade da popula\u00e7\u00e3o mundial n\u00e3o tinha acesso a qualquer forma de protec\u00e7\u00e3o social. A oferta de trabalho digno e de protec\u00e7\u00e3o social \u00e9 imperativa, uma vez que n\u00e3o s\u00f3 capacita os indiv\u00edduos a realizarem todo o seu potencial, mas tamb\u00e9m incentiva uma maior contribui\u00e7\u00e3o social. Em contraste, a aus\u00eancia de condi\u00e7\u00f5es de trabalho adequadas e de seguran\u00e7a social agrava a inseguran\u00e7a, especialmente para aqueles que est\u00e3o presos na pobreza duradoura.
