Em 11 de abril de 2024, trinta (30) jovens e jovens aliados se reuniram de todo o Canad\u00e1 para um evento online intitulado Objectivos de Desenvolvimento Sustent\u00e1vel da ONU: Ac\u00e7\u00e3o Colaborativa da Juventude.<\/em> Este webinar \u00e9 o primeiro de uma s\u00e9rie de educa\u00e7\u00e3o e defesa patrocinada pelo Mary Ward Centre, pelas Irm\u00e3s de S\u00e3o Jos\u00e9 do Minist\u00e9rio da Paz, Justi\u00e7a Social e Cuidados com a Cria\u00e7\u00e3o, pelo Centro de Refugiados FCJ e pela Rede Canadense de Jovens do Conselho para Refugiados.<\/p>

A s\u00e9rie de webinars visa capacitar os jovens rec\u00e9m-chegados para adquirirem conhecimento sobre os ODS e defenderem o que precisam para prosperar. Durante o webinar de abril, os jovens aprenderam sobre a estrutura dos ODS e, em seguida, mergulharam profundamente em tr\u00eas ODS que ser\u00e3o revisados pela ONU neste ver\u00e3o: ODS 13 (A\u00e7\u00e3o Clim\u00e1tica), ODS 16 (Paz, Justi\u00e7a e Institui\u00e7\u00f5es Fortes) e ODS 17 (Parcerias para os Objetivos). Em seguida, foram incentivados a refletir sobre as interliga\u00e7\u00f5es entre os ODS e as suas pr\u00f3prias vidas. Como s\u00e3o os jovens rec\u00e9m-chegados impactados por estes ODS e se eles s\u00e3o alcan\u00e7ados? Como s\u00e3o os ODS nas suas comunidades?<\/em> Finalmente, os jovens receberam algumas dicas e ferramentas de advocacia sobre como interagir com funcion\u00e1rios governamentais a qualquer n\u00edvel para falar sobre os ODS.<\/p>

Os jovens tiveram acesso a um infogr\u00e1fico sobre engajamento pol\u00edtico e a um folheto com dicas de defesa de direitos. Estamos gratos pela participa\u00e7\u00e3o do Employment and Social Development Canada como aliado dos jovens, incentivando-os a tornarem-se politicamente engajados.<\/p>

O segundo webinar desta s\u00e9rie ser\u00e1 realizado em 6 de junho\u00ba<\/sup>. A inten\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e9 proporcionar uma oportunidade para os jovens participarem em conversas com os decisores sobre os ODS e sobre como estes se cruzam com as suas vidas como rec\u00e9m-chegados. Espera-se que os participantes nos decisores sejam representados por funcion\u00e1rios de ag\u00eancias da ONU, pol\u00edticos locais e federais e funcion\u00e1rios de departamentos governamentais.<\/p>

No Mary Ward Centre, estamos empenhados em caminhar com os jovens para ajud\u00e1-los a desenvolver todo o seu potencial. Isto inclui acompanhamento no envolvimento pol\u00edtico e capacita\u00e7\u00e3o para concretizar os seus direitos. Procuramos educar e criar espa\u00e7os para que os jovens tenham a sua voz ouvida por aqueles que t\u00eam autoridade na tomada de decis\u00f5es e permitir a sua plena participa\u00e7\u00e3o nos processos de tomada de decis\u00e3o.<\/p>
