O\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.unicef.org.au\/our-work\/information-for-children\/un-convention-on-the-rights-of-the-child\">Conven\u00e7\u00e3o das Na\u00e7\u00f5es Unidas sobre os Direitos da Crian\u00e7a<\/a>\u00a0(1989) define crian\u00e7a como: \u201cum ser humano com idade inferior a 18 anos, a menos que, nos termos da lei aplic\u00e1vel a essa crian\u00e7a, a maioridade seja atingida mais cedo\u201d.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p><p>Os casamentos for\u00e7ados e infantis aprisionam as jovens em rela\u00e7\u00f5es que as privam dos seus direitos humanos b\u00e1sicos. A mutila\u00e7\u00e3o genital feminina, uma pr\u00e1tica generalizada em algumas partes do mundo, viola uma s\u00e9rie de princ\u00edpios bem estabelecidos de direitos humanos.<\/p><p>Explora\u00e7\u00e3o sexual, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.stopvaw.org\/human_trafficking_2\">tr\u00e1fico<\/a>, e a prostitui\u00e7\u00e3o apresentam riscos significativos para a sa\u00fade f\u00edsica e mental das meninas.\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.unicef.org\/index.php\">UNICEF<\/a> A iniciativa para acabar com o tr\u00e1fico de crian\u00e7as inclui rapazes e raparigas, no entanto, sabemos que as raparigas correm um risco muito maior de certos tipos de tr\u00e1fico, incluindo o trabalho dom\u00e9stico e o com\u00e9rcio sexual.<\/p><p>Em v\u00e1rios pa\u00edses, o ass\u00e9dio sexual contra as raparigas prevalece tanto no local de trabalho como na escola. As raparigas que trabalham como trabalhadoras dom\u00e9sticas ou industriais s\u00e3o vulner\u00e1veis ao ass\u00e9dio e \u00e0 explora\u00e7\u00e3o sexual por parte dos seus empregadores. As meninas que frequentam a escola s\u00e3o frequentemente v\u00edtimas de professores ou de seus colegas.<\/p><p>Crimes cometidos em nome da &#8220;Honra&#8221; t\u00eam como alvo milhares de meninas em todo o mundo que s\u00e3o mortas todos os anos por cometerem ou serem capazes de cometer transgress\u00f5es consideradas desonrosas. A v\u00edtima mais vulner\u00e1vel da guerra \u00e9 a menina. Esta longa lista de actos de viol\u00eancia contra as raparigas n\u00e3o \u00e9 exaustiva.
