O segundo Modelo das Na\u00e7\u00f5es Unidas St. Agnes (SAMUN) foi realizado virtualmente de 21 a 23 de outubro de 2021. Iniciado em 2020 e organizado pela Escola St. Agnes Loreto em Lucknow, o evento conta com a participa\u00e7\u00e3o de muitas escolas IBVM e CJ no Sul da \u00c1sia ( \u00cdndia, Nepal e Bangladesh). Irm\u00e3 Janet Palafox ibvm fez o discurso de abertura e encorajou os participantes a aprenderem com esta experi\u00eancia e a se envolverem na pol\u00edtica local, nacional e global para defender a mudan\u00e7a social. Irm\u00e3 Cynthia Mathew fez as considera\u00e7\u00f5es finais e parabenizou os alunos pela forma como conduziram suas delibera\u00e7\u00f5es. Foi uma oportunidade maravilhosa de vincular os alunos ao trabalho do Escrit\u00f3rio da ONG.<\/p>

A simula\u00e7\u00e3o do Modelo da ONU \u00e9 uma forma eficaz de aprender sobre o funcionamento das Na\u00e7\u00f5es Unidas. As confer\u00eancias s\u00e3o organizadas por institui\u00e7\u00f5es educacionais como a St. Agnes para envolver seus alunos em debates diplom\u00e1ticos e di\u00e1logos semelhantes aos das Na\u00e7\u00f5es Unidas. Ele proporciona aos alunos exposi\u00e7\u00e3o a assuntos internacionais e adquirem uma compreens\u00e3o das habilidades de diplomacia e negocia\u00e7\u00e3o.<\/p>

O SAMUN deste ano focou na import\u00e2ncia de educar os jovens sobre os ideais de conhecimento, inova\u00e7\u00e3o e, principalmente, VERDADE. Como afirmava o folheto:<\/p>

O mundo que herdaram \u00e9 o fardo dos jovens e mud\u00e1-lo \u00e9 o seu dever e privil\u00e9gio. Se quisermos ver ideias e lideran\u00e7a que possam provocar uma mudan\u00e7a suficientemente poderosa, devemos formar os l\u00edderes do nosso futuro com base em ideais de conhecimento, inova\u00e7\u00e3o e verdade. A ignor\u00e2ncia e a estagna\u00e7\u00e3o n\u00e3o t\u00eam lugar nesta vis\u00e3o do nosso futuro.<\/em><\/p>

O SAMUN 2021 deu aos alunos, do 8\u00ba ao 12\u00ba ano, a oportunidade de compreender as quest\u00f5es fundamentais que amea\u00e7am a paz e a seguran\u00e7a globais. Os alunos analisaram quest\u00f5es relacionadas com a rela\u00e7\u00e3o entre os Estados Unidos e o Reino Unido p\u00f3s-Brexit; com\u00e9rcio e coopera\u00e7\u00e3o multilateral; conflito pol\u00edtico; integra\u00e7\u00e3o de migrantes e refugiados, especialmente mulheres e minorias de g\u00e9nero; resposta global a cat\u00e1strofes naturais e constru\u00e7\u00e3o de cidades mais resilientes com foco nos ODS 3, 10 e 13 (sa\u00fade, redu\u00e7\u00e3o das desigualdades e a\u00e7\u00e3o clim\u00e1tica). Os estudantes participantes foram articulados, debateram com compet\u00eancia as posi\u00e7\u00f5es do seu pa\u00eds e demonstraram criatividade nas suas delibera\u00e7\u00f5es.<\/p>

Os alunos foram apoiados por um Conselho Executivo que inclu\u00eda acad\u00eamicos, pesquisadores e ex-alunos, palestrantes eminentes e um Comit\u00ea Organizador dedicado composto por funcion\u00e1rios e alunos. Foi um grupo impressionante de pessoas que orientou as delibera\u00e7\u00f5es e forneceu conselhos especialmente sobre a mec\u00e2nica dos processos e t\u00e9cnicas do Modelo da ONU. Os alunos pareciam ter gostado e aprendido com suas experi\u00eancias.<\/p>

O Secret\u00e1rio Geral deste ano foi Prateeksha Shukla, um dos nossos Defensores da Juventude. O Secret\u00e1rio Geral do ano anterior (2020) foi Riya Bhargava, que \u00e9 nosso atual estagi\u00e1rio de Representante da Juventude. N\u00e3o h\u00e1 d\u00favida de que a sua experi\u00eancia e compet\u00eancias adquiridas com a participa\u00e7\u00e3o num Modelo da ONU contribu\u00edram para a sua capacidade de participar nos processos reais da ONU e contribuir para o nosso trabalho na ONU por um mundo mais justo.<\/p>
