Os estere\u00f3tipos emocionais, sexuais e psicol\u00f3gicos das mulheres come\u00e7am quando o m\u00e9dico diz: \u201c\u00c9 uma menina\u201d.<\/p>

O dia 11 de Outubro marca o Dia Internacional da Rapariga (IDG), um dia para celebrar o qu\u00e3o longe cheg\u00e1mos na desfazer destes estere\u00f3tipos e no compromisso com a luta cont\u00ednua contra as injusti\u00e7as e a usurpa\u00e7\u00e3o dos direitos das raparigas. Este ano, para comemorar o 10\u00ba anivers\u00e1rio do dia, o IDG Summit Girls SpeakOut anual foi realizado em um formato h\u00edbrido com o tema 'Mind the Gap- Girls Rights Now!'<\/p>

\u00c0 medida que o evento investigava as lacunas que permanecem na plena realiza\u00e7\u00e3o dos direitos das meninas, meninas activistas de todo o mundo partilharam as suas experi\u00eancias numa discuss\u00e3o franca com representantes da ONU. A discuss\u00e3o foi realizada em tr\u00eas segmentos sobre acesso \u00e0 educa\u00e7\u00e3o, sobreviv\u00eancia e prote\u00e7\u00e3o contra a viol\u00eancia, e meninas como agentes de mudan\u00e7a, todos destacados no \u00e2mbito do quadro estabelecido na Conven\u00e7\u00e3o das Na\u00e7\u00f5es Unidas sobre os Direitos da Crian\u00e7a em 1989 e na Declara\u00e7\u00e3o e Plataforma de Pequim para A\u00e7\u00e3o de 1995.<\/p>

Kashvi Agarwal, uma jovem defensora da \u00cdndia que representa a ONG IBVM da ONU, foi uma das moderadoras do Girls Speak Out deste ano. O evento foi organizado pelo Grupo de Trabalho sobre Meninas e ONU Mulheres e co-patrocinado pelas Miss\u00f5es Permanentes do Canad\u00e1, Peru e Turquia junto \u00e0s Na\u00e7\u00f5es Unidas.<\/p>

O Girls SpeakOut viu as defensoras das meninas ocuparem o centro do palco enquanto contavam as suas hist\u00f3rias e defendiam o seu activismo, com os Representantes da ONU a defenderem a sua causa e a juntarem-se ao seu apelo \u00e0 igualdade. A discuss\u00e3o foi liderada por raparigas que fizeram perguntas imperativas sobre a responsabiliza\u00e7\u00e3o pelos compromissos existentes, a implementa\u00e7\u00e3o de pol\u00edticas para proteger as raparigas da viol\u00eancia e da discrimina\u00e7\u00e3o e a acessibilidade a recursos e ref\u00fagios seguros.<\/p>

Sra. Sima Bahous (Subsecret\u00e1ria Geral das Na\u00e7\u00f5es Unidas e Diretora Executiva da ONU Mulheres), Sr. Feridun Sinirlio\u011flu (Representante da Miss\u00e3o Permanente de T\u00fcrkiye junto \u00e0 ONU), Sr. Pedroza (Representante da Miss\u00e3o Permanente do Peru junto \u00e0 ONU). ), Karin Hulshof (Diretora Executiva Adjunta de Parcerias do UNICEF) e Richard Arbeiter (Representante Permanente Adjunto da Miss\u00e3o do Canad\u00e1 junto \u00e0 ONU) foram os principais oradores do evento e dirigiram-se \u00e0 reuni\u00e3o e responderam aos apelos das meninas.<\/p>

O Girls Speak Out deste ano foi um mergulho no ativismo dos anos anteriores, no longo caminho que ainda nos resta percorrer e no lembrete urgente de que o apelo das meninas de todo o mundo \u00e9 \u201cDireitos das meninas agora!\u201d<\/p>
