Exciting and Empowering Workshop by the Working Group on Girls

It was enriching, interactive, and informative, addressing a crucial topic for young women worldwide.

On January 11th, I attended an exciting and empowering workshop organized by the Working Group on Girls (WGG). This session focused on improving the lives of women and girls worldwide through advocacy and mission visits. The workshop aimed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills needed to recommend meaningful changes.

The workshop began with a warm welcome and introductions, bringing together girls from diverse locations, including India, South Africa, New York, the USA, and Canada. The representatives from WGG explained the significance of mission visits and the detailed procedures involved. After a brief ten-minute break, participants were divided into small groups to engage in a Mock Mission Visit exercise in breakout rooms.

The group activity was particularly engaging, fostering a collaborative environment where everyone was congenial and cooperative. Preparing for the mock mission visit as a team was a valuable experience, allowing us to practice real-life advocacy scenarios.

The workshop provided significant insights into the practical aspects of mission visits, emphasizing the importance of standing up for women’s and girls’ rights and creating actionable recommendations. The feedback session following the mock visit highlighted key areas for improvement, enhancing our understanding and presentation skills.

The workshop was highly effective in meeting its objectives, offering a blend of theoretical knowledge and practical application. The interactive format and the opportunity to work with peers from different backgrounds enriched the learning experience.

Overall, the workshop was a wonderful experience. It was enriching, interactive, and informative, addressing a crucial topic for young women worldwide. I am grateful to my Principal and school for the opportunity to participate and look forward to applying the insights gained in future advocacy efforts.
