In response to the crisis in Haiti that further deteriorated with the assassination of their President, Jovenel Moïse, we signed the Statement from the Haiti Response Coalition in support of the people of Haiti.
The Haiti Response Coalition is composed of many organizations, some of which are dedicated full time to human rights, law and politics in Haiti. A number of our colleagues from the Religious at the UN (RUN) including the Sisters of Mercy and Religious of the Sacred Heart are present in Haiti.
Most Haitian families live in a climate of social and economic insecurity, and have lost loved ones to the ongoing violence. Activists and human rights defenders face grave danger as they continue to work for a better future for all Haitians.
