Celebrating Mary Ward Women

We know that (women) are often the first to respond to needs and in the context of the pandemic are often carrying the burden of caring for family and loved ones, to which some of the stories in this publication give witness.

On International Women’s Day 2021 we celebrated Mary Ward women around the world who responded with creativity and resilience to the needs of their families and communities during this pandemic. The booklet showcased some of the many stories of women doing ordinary things extraordinarily, to shape a more equal future and recovery post Covid19.

As our International Leaders, Noelle Corscadden IBVM and Jane Livesey CJ wrote in their letter, “We know that they are often the first to respond to needs and in the context of the pandemic are often carrying the burden of caring for family and loved ones, to which some of the stories in this publication give witness.”

We are grateful to the amazing and inspiring women who shared their stories and to our Mary Ward family from all regions of the world for collaborating with us to make this booklet a reality. We hope that like us, you will also be inspired and encouraged by their stories.

Read their stories in English and Spanish.
