My experience of working with UNAC (IBVM/CJ UNNGO Advisory Committee) was unique, exhilarating and challenging.
Reena Mazumder (previous UNAC member)
Two decades is a long time but, it to me it seems, it was just the other day, when I was appointed as a member of the IBVM/CJ UNNGO Advisory Committee (UNAC). It was an honour and privilege to be the National coordinator of JPIC in India and then to be a member of UNAC. My experience of working with UNAC was unique, exhilarating and challenging. Multitasking between my family life, teaching in Loreto Dharamtala, JPIC and UNAC had become a part of my DNA. Very soon I found myself learning , updating, adapting, recording, filing, networking and sharing my views with a gallery of well informed, enthusiastic women from all over the world. I grew with you all.
One learning that I hold very close to my heart is the importance of networking on various issues. Fortunately technology has been a blessing. Now UNAC can reach out very fast to very remote places with ‘Artificial Intelligence’. Our institutions all over the world are doing commendable work absolutely at the grassroot level, which has finally spiralled up to UNNGO. I have experienced this happening. UNAC was instrumental in mobilizing it. The need to collaborate and present the issues at the right place, so that there is change, was felt the most. I can only say ‘I tried’.
Once again I CONGRATULATE you all for carrying out the good work for all humanity.
Let Peace and Justice prevail.
