Happy International Day of the Girl! The world is home to more than 1.1 billion girls under age 18, who are poised to become the largest generation of female leaders, entrepreneurs and change-makers the world has ever seen. Every year on October 10 we celebrate girls.
Our Mary Ward Family celebrates our students on this Day of the Girl 2021. These young leaders are aware of the importance of access to digital technology, digital literacy, devices, internet and reliable electricity. They know that digital inclusion can impact the way they interact, educate themselves and participate in political discourse.
For this year’s International Day of the Girl Summit, they were invited to submit videos, poems and artworks to express their thoughts on the theme of the Girls Speak Out: Closing the Digital Divide to Accelerate Change! Thank you to our Mary Ward students for raising your voice through digital technology in solidarity with the earth and all her peoples.
