(ILO Recommendation 202) is an action orientated policy that if implemented would indeed be that transformative action ‘to ensure that all human beings can fulfill their potential in dignity and equality in a healthy environment.’ (2030 Agenda). “Universal, rights-based social protection is the most sustainable and effective approach towards eradicating poverty, reducing inequalities, and building social inclusion”.
“The 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda is built on fundamental values and principles aimed at ensuring that all human beings can fulfill their potential in dignity and equality. Its profound ethical foundation rests on the imperative that no one is left behind and that those who are hardest to reach should be given priority. We now begin the third year of the implementation of the Agenda. Soaring economic inequality is among the most urgent issues at this time if we are to guarantee the commitment made in 2015”.
