Inspired by Climate and Feminist Leaders

Listening to them speak inspired me a lot. It also filled me with a lot of self confidence and courage to raise my voice at all platforms for advocating human rights and issues.

The UN 66 Session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW66) has been a great experience for me. This was the first time when I got exposed to such international and intergenerational conversations. I had always been interested in working for the protection and preservation of the environment, fighting climate change and striving for gender equality by advocating for women and girls’ rights.

The CSW66 gave me the opportunity of gathering information about what’s happening around the world in these contexts. It helped me to get to know about the opinions of several other climate and feminist leaders, and the revolutionary works done by them in their respective fields. Listening to them speak inspired me a lot. It also filled me with a lot of self confidence and courage to raise my voice at all platforms for advocating human rights and issues.

I would always be grateful to Sr. Janet of IBVM-Loreto, Sr. Josephine, the principal of my school St. Joseph’s Convent High School and my teachers Mrs. Shweta Prasad and Mrs. Soma Chatterjee who gave me such a wonderful opportunity to participate in the CSW66. It would always be a memorable and inspiring part of my life.
