Attending the WGG Virtual Conversation Circle was a transformative experience for me. It renewed my faith that change can start with individuals and their actions and opinions.
Attending the Working Group on Girls (WGG) Virtual Conversation Circle on “Education in the digital age for achieving gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls” was incredibly inspiring and thought-provoking. This was my first time engaging in an event like this, and I quickly discovered the true dedication and expertise of everyone involved in organising the event. Contributing to the event through creating the poster and helping to facilitate was incredibly rewarding and I felt an immense sense of pride in working to ensure the success of the event.
For me, the most notable aspect of the event was the intelligence and enthusiasm of the young women and girls who attended the event. I was so astonished by their passion, articulation of their opinions, and like-minded want to create change and advocate for social issues. It was inspiring for me to see our generation of girls and young women be such change-makers. I was thrilled to be part of such an empowering conversation, where all opinions were valued, and the diversity of different cultures, races, backgrounds and ages were all celebrated.
The Conversation Circle was a brilliant opportunity to connect with women and girls from all across the world and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I strongly believe conversations and events like this are at the heart of social justice and create real change and hope. I encourage others to attend and engage with events like this in the future as I felt so invigorated by the conversations and comforted by how many people care to create change as well. Attending the WGG Virtual Conversation Circle was a transformative experience for me. It renewed my faith that change can start with individuals and their actions and opinions. I learnt more about how crucial education and technology is in achieving gender equality and empowering women and girls.
This event was an opportunity to connect with women and girls from around the world and learn from them, something that we are usually restricted by due to locations. I will cherish this experience and I look forward to participating in more opportunities like the WGG Virtual Conversation Circle in the future as I believe they are essential to creating a just and equitable world.
