Sustainable Development Goals 2030: Transforming our World

The 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda (SDGs) provides a framework for our work with the United Nations. The SDGs with its 17 goals mobilizes our energies in education, awareness raising and advocacy. Women and children are our specific areas of concern and act as a lens through which we address issues such as Gender Equity, Eradication of Poverty, Education for Global Citizenship, Trafficking in Persons, Climate Change and Financing for Development.

The SDGs and Pope Francis’s encyclical ‘Laudato Si,’ two landmark documents of our time, were instituted in 2015. While they embody a different lens, they have the common goals of ending poverty and leaving no one behind. We consider ‘Laudato Si’ as a moral charter for the SDGs.

Together with our network, we implement programs that contribute to achieving the SDGs. Mary Ward International (MWI) is the fund and friend-raising office of the Institute. It seeks to develop and strengthen partnerships amongst the IBVM/CJ global network of members, co-workers, past pupils, present students, friends and connections to assist with development works around the world.
